Hi Folks!

We’ve got some great new summer reads on our shelves, and I want to tell you a little bit about some of them. We now have one of Stephen King’s most riveting novels, The Long Walk (he wrote it in 1979, under the pen name Richard Bachman). We also have one of the most talked-about romantic comedies of the year, The Rosie Project, an international bestseller, which tells the story of a brilliant, autistic scientist who tries to find love in all the wrong ways. And our graphic novel collection continues to grow, with our latest addition Sugar Falls, based on the true story of a residential school survivor.

To our non-fiction collection, we’ve added How Can I Be Your Lover When I’m Too Busy Being Your Mother: The Answer to Becoming Partners Again, and Sewing Green: 25 Projects Made with Repurposed and Organic Materials. For those of you who are spending time outdoors, we’ve got Backyard Foraging: 65 Familiar Plants You Didn’t Know You Could Eat and The Grafter’s Handbook (a classic reference book on plant propagation by grafting). And once it cools off and you’re ready to return to the kitchen, we’ve bought volumes 1 and 2 of Mastering the Art of French Cooking, by none other than Julia Child (along with Louisette Bertholle and Simone Beck).

Music

Join us on Tuesday, August 13 at 1 pm for the upbeat, fun-loving music of children’s entertainer Mr. Mojo. His Raffi-esque tunes-with-a-twist are included in a brand new CD – this is one you won’t want to miss!

Boundary Historical Society

Many thanks to the Boundary Historical Society for donating their annual reports to the library for everyone to enjoy!

Library Closure

The library will be closed on August 3 for BC Day.
