Dani Collins published fifth book this summer
Christina Lake’s own romance author is at it again.
Dani Collins published her fifth book, “Proof of Their Sin” in early July but she’s not stopping to catch her breath.
Despite having five books on her resume, Collins first book was just released in January of this year after winning a contest with Harlequin Mills and Boon. Since then, she’s signed a whopping nine book deals, with “Proof of Their Sin” only getting her partway through that list.
Most of her books are with Harlequin, but she’s also self-published and worked with an e-book publisher based out of Calgary called Champagne Books.
All of her books are short romances but they range within that genre. She’s written everything from romantic comedies to medieval fantasies. Her latest book is about a heroine who becomes pregnant after falling into bed with her late husband’s best friend.
Collins says she has been writing for 25 years and will continue to write romance. The genre is something that consistently appeals to women.
“Ultimately, it’s an uplifting story so if you’re going through hard times, it’s a reliable escape,” she said. “There’s also the underlying message that we all deserve to be loved and treated with respect. That can be very powerful and reassuring to people.”
“Proof of Their Sin” is available at local bookstores and Collins will be doing a signing in Grand Fork’s at Peddlar’s Place on Market Avenue from 4 to 5 p.m., Aug. 9.
