Hi Folks!

We still have spots available in our Summer Reading Club (a free children’s program for ages 6 to 12, running from July 9 to August 23) – come in and sign up! And our Adult Reading Club (the Summer edition) is up and running. This year’s we have a wonderful selection of mysteries with female protagonists. Fill out a review form and enter to win one of many great prizes.

Storytime

Due to popular demand, we’ll be continuing our pre-school storytime throughout the summer – come on down every Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 for songs, rhymes, and stories!

And starting on July 3, we’ll be having weekly storytimes this summer at the Christina Lake Welcome Centre, every Wednesday from 2:00 to 2:30, until August 21. All ages welcome!

Video Time

Les Johnson will be at the library Thursdays starting July 4 from 6:00 to 7:45, to teach people how to create, produce, and edit your own videos for YouTube. Whether you want to put together some videos of family or friends, or you want to enter the exciting “What Do You Love About Grand Forks?” contest, this is the place to be!

Summertime

There’s a whole lot of things that keep us busy in the summer – only some of which are library-related! If you plan to explore our beautiful province, we have travel books, backroad mapbooks, and guides for hiking, canoeing, cycling, and more. For all you gardeners out there, we have a comprehensive collection of books on everything from fruit tree pruning to xeriscaping to backyard beekeeping. And those of us who are all about eating and cooking, our stacks are bursting at the seams with cookbooks on everything from barbeque to tacos to smoothies!

Air conditioning

And the other thing about summer – it gets hot! The library is air conditioned – a good place to escape from the heat when it’s getting to you.
