“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”― Barack Obama

Once again the Midway Public Library is planning the JLB Memorial Kettle River Run; this will be our 4th annual run set for Jul. 20, to raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation of the Southern Interior.

Last year we raised approximately $10,000.00 for patient care, this year we hope to meet our target of $12,000.

Hope for the people that journey the lonely road through cancer cost money. We can help put that burden behind them.

If you are a survivor, have known anyone with cancer you know how hard the journey is! But we can help by taking one step at a time, walk or run.

Make this a family affair; take part in the Kettle River Days festivities’, as well come and join the Run for cancer care. If you are a serious runner we will time your run, if you just want to have fun compete for the spirit award. We will judge the family or group that participates in fun, e.g. crazy glasses, hats, shoes. As well the larges family group, larges professional group, the fastest 5k, 10k, 21k, the youngest (walking), the oldest, most pledges, etc.

There is registration on Friday evening and a spaghetti dinner for the participants (other family members can pay a donation) and awards and beef on a bun Saturday afternoon.

Our website is www.midwaylibary.bc.ca for registration forms and pledge forms. There is a volunteer form as well if you know someone who would like to volunteer for this event.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”― Margaret Mead
