Customer service can be a “make it or break it” experience for a shopper.   When you shop in a store where you get great customer service, chances are you’ll return.   On the other hand, if you get poor customer service…..well, you’ll probably take your business elsewhere.

Learn the secrets to providing great customer service – and improve your chances of getting hired at the same time  – in a course being offered at Selkirk College in  Grand Forks.

The entry course is designed for those who want to work as a cashier, sales clerk, waiter/waitress or service worker in the tourism, retail or hospitality field.

Those who successfully complete the course will receive a completion certificate in customer service that can give you an advantage in getting hired. Following the first session held in February, local employers are starting to contact the college looking for people who’ve completed the certificate.

Topics include:  Attitude is Everything, Communicating Effectively, Building Customer Relationships, and The Correct Way to Make Change ($).

This  FREE 24 hour course runs over the following 4 days from 9 am – 3:30 pm: this Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, Saturday, April 20 and Friday, April 26. All classes take place at the Grand Forks Campus of Selkirk College.

It is open to those aged 16 and up.

Pre-registration and an intake interview is required. Call Christy Luke at 250-442-2704 ext 227 or email:  cluke@selkirk.ca
