Grand Forks Mayor wins challenge race

It was a close finish in the Human Dog Sled Mayors Super Challenge Race at the Greenwood Winterfest this past weekend.
Grand Forks mayor Brian Taylor was pulled to victory by the Bruins team, leaving Greenwood mayor Nipper Kettle and Midway mayor Randy Kappes in the snow dust.
Greenwood’s team was a close second with mayor Nipper Kettle, who had slipped off his sled just after the start, catching up to his ride just before the finish line. Is that allowed? Watch the video and you be the judge.
Mayor Randy Kappes Midway team came in third when he nosed across the line before the other teams sleds had crossed.
The weather cooperated by holding back the rain until the race was over and there was a good crowd out cheering them and enjoying the spectacle.
