Kevin Argue new superintendent for School District 51
Kevin Argue, the present principal for Dr.D.A. Perley Elementary School, will be the new superintendent of schools for School District 51.
The Board of Education made the announcement today, Wednesday, November 21, after weeks of interviews and deliberation.
Even local Parent Advisory Council members, teachers and union representatives were invited to weigh in on the decision.
Argue, who has been with School District 51 since 1996, will start his new position July 1, 2013.
The present superintendent, Michael Strukoff, is retiring on July 31, 2013 to allow for overlap.
Before working in his present position at Perley, Argue was the vice principal at Grand Forks Secondary School.
