Young and old from across the Boundary got jiggy with BC Metis Federation Cultural Ambassador Beverly Lambert during her visit here in late October. Lambert visited many of our local schools as part of the Aboriginal Education program where she demonstarted traditional jigging, Metis music and culture.

She was also a guest at the Aboriginal Family Support Friday Group held at the Glanville Family Center in Grand Forks. The weekly group is opened to anyone interested in learning about cultures of all kinds in a warm and friendly environment.

They meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m every Friday. Events coming this month include a Drum Making Workshop on Nov. 9 (pre-registration required), pie making on Nov. 16, Medicine Wheel collages and children’s drumming group on Nov. 23 at the Hutton School Hideaway and the Seven Sacred Teachings to Reduce Stress on Nov. 30.

For more information about the group call Laranna Androsoff at 442-2267 ext. 133.
