Upcoming arts week promises lively and thoughtful entertainment

The Boundary District Arts Council and Gallery 2 are again combining forces to host the Arts and Culture Week in the Boundary.

During Arts Week there will be tours and demos for school students, in the Gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the library (regular hours) but all are welcome. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. 

Arts week begins on Sunday, Apr. 22 with a Gala performance by member groups in music, piano, voice and violin, dances Les Folles Jambettes, the Grand Forks Pipes and Drums, up and coming piano and voice performers along with a celebration of Earth Day. 

Admission is by donation and the proceeds go the upkeep of our community grand piano.

Saturday, Apr. 28 – 9 a.m. to noon, visit the Boundary Woodworkers Guild workshop located on Donaldson Dr. near North Forks Rd.

 

Back at the Gallery, from 1 – 3 p.m. is a reception for all artists and guests with refreshments, entertainment, music and speeches. A great way to end BC Arts Week. Come and meet the artists, crafts people and their wonderful creations, all amazing work.

Exhibits displayed April 17- 28  Gallery 2 hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Apr. 21 – Linda McCrae in concert in Gallery 2 – 7 p.m.
Sunday, Apr. 22 – Earth Day Gala by BDAC groups at GFSS – 7 p.m. music, dance, voice Pipes & Drums
Monday, Apr. 23 to Thursday Apr. 27- School tours and demos
Tuesday, Apr. 24 – Grant Lawrence in the Library, 6:30 p.m. author & CBC broadcaster.
Friday, Apr. 27-  Trevor Caswell, guitar, Christina Lake Living Arts Centre, 7 p.m.
Saturday, Apr. 28- Reception for all, 1 – 3 p.m. – Gallery 2
Saturday, Apr. 28 – Grand Forks Choral Society & Sopranos present “All You Need Is Love” Saturday, 7:30 p.m.  & Sunday 25 – 2 p.m. GFSS
May 2 – 4 Collect your exhibit.
