Boundary kids will have a few opportunities to visit with their favorite egg-giving bunny at various events around the Boundary Easter weekend.

The Grand Forks and District Aquatic Centre is hosting an Easter Bunny Swim for the whole family Saturday, April 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The annual event features fun and games in the pool, door prizes and a visit with the Easter Bunny. The bunny will be available for hugs and photos between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., so don’t forget your camera. There is a special admission rate for the event of $10 per family. For more information contact the aquatic center at 250-442-2202.

For adults wishing to embrace either the religious or seasonal feelings associated with Easter, there will be an Easter Tea at the First Baptist Church in Grand Forks on Thursday, April 5 at 11 a.m.

The church, located at 2495 76th Avenue, will, like all the other churches in our community, be holding a regular Easter Sunday service from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, April 7.

So far the annual, and often much anticipated, Community Easter Egg Hunt at Owl Mountain Ranch in Christina Lake, is not happening this year. Although the ranch owner, Marie Seymour, did apply for a grant-in-aid from the Regional District Kootenay Boundary last week to support the event, the Boundary Sentinel has not been able to reach her to confirm the event will be taking place.
