Grand Forks and Boundary Regional Agricultural Society (GFBRAS) is hosting a pumpkin fundraiser this month. “We’re challenging business owners to take a pumpkin (a plywood replica) and decorate it to display in their window,” said Patti Bevilacqua, director. “Then we will auction them off at the end of the month.” Funds will go to support the work of the society. The GFBRAS has nine pumpkins still looking for an identity. Please contact Patti at 250-666-0505 to get one to decorate – cost is $10.00. The September meat draw winners were: 1st Prize – Goat Meat from Joybilee Farms – Clint Bell and Mona Mattei; and 2nd Prize – Box of Apples from Spencer Hill Orchard – Ralph Bluthenthal. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets in support of the GFBRAS mobile abattoir project. Watch for details about the October meat draw to be announced soon.  Next meetings: GFBRAS: Oct. 25 annual planning session.
