Senior Boundary Growers had a great lunch at the Westbridge hall as long time resident Paul Lautard reminiced about the region. Lautard talked about growing up in the Boundary and his memories of the people living here at that time. He told many stories of some of his favourite neighbours, the nicknames they had and even shared some unique advice if one should encountered a bear in the woods. The luncheon was held on Tuesday, May 25 and Lautards’s masterful wood carvings were also on display.

A wonderful meal of chicken, pork and all the extras was cooked by Wendy Tossavainen, Sylvia Price, Marie Bourgh, Julie Webster and Vivien Browne – thanks ladies the food was fantastic. Senior Boundary Growers would also like to thank Norma Tilgner, Lynne McKilligan, Annita Unrau, Nica Parenteau, Faye Flynn, Brenda Schmalz, Gloria Lautard, and Merida Cummings for all their help it was greatly appreciated. All the leftovers were donated to an organization helping youth at risk.

The next seniors lunch will be hosted by Beaverdell at the community centre on Thursday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information please call the Growers at 250 449-1717 or go to www.gfbras.ca.
