A heavy snowfall on Dec. 30 made roads around the southern interior slippery as Christmas visitors headed back home. The snow continued throughout most of Wednesday creating hazardous conditions around the region. Between Kelowna and Vernon the high number of accidents led the transportation authorities to ask people to refrain from travelling the roads at all during the day.

In Midway, emergency workers from ambulance, RCMP, and fire departments all responded to this two-vehicle collision just east of Midway. Within a matter of hours, at least three accidents occurred around Midway on Wednesday. RCMP spokespersons were not available to comment on the number of accidents, and what the injuries were to the vehicle’s passengers and drivers.
