A one day workshop on the opportunities surrounding a new-to-Canada crop – Haskap berries – gave farmers in the Grand Forks area insight into a potential new market.

Curtis Braaten, of Haskap Central in Saskatchewan, gave the presentation that attracted the attention of the Parliamentary Secretary of B.C., MLA John Les who traveled to Grand Forks to attend the session. The City of Grand Forks funded the workshop as a part of their commitment to their economic development task force’s work.

Watch the video from Les Johnson, GFTV, to learn more about the berries and how they grow. You can view clips from his menu too!
