Grand Forks greeted the Olympic Torch on Sunday, Jan. 24 in style. About 1,000 people gathered to see the torch as it came through town and to enjoy the entertainment, borscht and hot chocolate. The first annual snow sculpting competition held in Grand Forks on Saturday, Jan. 23 left some interesting shapes in city park for the Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. Four teams entered the inaugural event sponsored by Les Johnson of What's Up In Grand Forks. Quite possibly the most unique, fun and old-school extreme events in town, the annual Spokane Street homemade bobsled race has been brought back from the brink of extinction.
