Julien Locke of Nelson kicked off the 2019 Cross-Country Ski season in style after recently capturing the men’s Classic Sprint Title at the 2019 U.S. Cross-Country Ski Nationals in Craftsbury, Vermont.

Locke, a graduate of the Nelson Nordic Ski Club and now member of the Canadian National Ski Team, edged out Ben Saxton and Logan Hanneman of the United States to claim the Sprint Title....

The Trail Smoke Eaters Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce forward Kent Johnson (’02) has committed to the University of Michigan Wolverines for the 2020-21 season. 

Johnson, 16, is in his first season with the Smoke Eaters as well as the BC Hockey League, scoring 11 goals and adding 12 assists for 23 points to go along with 22 penalty minutes this season in 35 games played....
