Effective at noon July 5, 2010 all medium and large-sized open fires are prohibited within the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. Specifically this prohibits:

Well, McAfee just released a report in which they looked at the computer use of 1,357 10- to 17-year-olds in the U.S. While I don't recommend McAfee anti-virus or any of their other products, I definitely recommend giving their report a quick read here.
Many people in British Columbia feel both dismayed and betrayed by the HST. It is a $2 billion shift in hidden sales taxes from business to consumers done by a government who said sales tax harmonization was not on the radar screen during the most recent election. True, government reduced income taxes to soften the blow of the tax shift, but meanwhile, it increased other taxes. If government cuts one tax then raises another, people are no better off.
The 2010 Pharmasave Christina Lake Triathalon was challenging for the participants, but worth all their hard work. There were individual participants from youth to seniors, and teams took a run at the prizes too. Biking the hill up from the townsite, swimming the lake, and running the course on a hot day worked up a sweat for the treats served up by the Grand Forks Rotary Club at the end of the race. 95 individuals and 18 teams of two or three members vied for the trophies at this intense race.
This summer, Whitewater Ski Resort plans to install its new Glory Ridge Chair. The chair was formerly identified as the BS1 lift in the Master Plan, and will service the terrain currently referred to as the Backside. “The mountain crew, in cooperation with mother nature, hope to have the lift ready to load as conditions permit this coming season” says General Manager Brian Cusack.
