The Boundary is in for a real treat this week when Latin-Flamenco-jazz guitarist Servantes brings his highly acclaimed act to town for a performance at gallery2 in Grand Forks the evening of October 19th.

Gatineau native Patrice Servant, now known as “Servantes” began playing the guitar at the age of 6. Winning every competition that he has ever entered, guitar virtuoso Servantes has an abiding passion for his chosen art form.

Servantes earned diplomas in classical guitar interpretation and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec, and studied harmony, percussion, composing, writing and music editing, as well as theory.

After completing two masters degrees in music and participating in many performances in numerous projects, Servantes went on to travel, studying Latin rhythms in Peru and Flamenco in Spain.

His music is described as “Nuevo-flamenco-contemporary-jazz with funky Latin grooves.”

Hailed as innovative, intense, and generous, Servantes is an artist that you won’t want to miss.

You can expect to hear Servantes’ own compositions as well as improvisations and well known favorites.

Hosted by Alive! Entertainment Group, Servantes showtime is Sunday, October 19th, 7:30 pm at gallery2.

Advance tickets available at gallery2, Kokomo’s and Pharmasave, $18

At the door, $20 for adults, $10 for youth.
