The Hon. John Duncan, Minister of State and Chief Government Whip, was in Christina Lake, Aug. 21 to talk about funding that has recently been made in the Boundary area.

Duncan spoke to a group of about 20 people at the Christina Lake Lawn Bowling Green to official announce that $10,525 was donated to the outdoor fitness park — which is located at the bowling green.

Another $24,800 is going to upgrade the Grand Forks Curling Rink so they can have a new wheel chair lift and $7,610 will be spent at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre for upgrades to the electrical panel and circuit breakers.

During the presentation, Duncan said money needs to spent on more than roads and sewers and that “quality of life improvements” are just as important.

He made these announcements on behalf of the Hon. Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
