A celebration to remember on Canada Day

Who can say what the best part of this Canada Day was?   I’ll go out on a limb and suggest the administration, because everything seemed to go perfectly according to plan.   There were so many unique draws to downtown Grand Forks that at times it seemed the entire city was out enjoying the festivities.   The Elks Breakfast in Overwaitea’s parking lot was steadily attended all morning, Jazzercise pumped up its members and other willing participants, the parading groups were interesting, while the route was entirely lined with onlookers!   The Grand Forks Pipes and Drums were awesome, as were the other musical and dance entertainers in Gyro Park. The farmers market, usually operating out of Gyro Park, lined 5th Street with every sort of craft, vegetable, and article for sale one could imagine.   Sharing the historic spotlight of our nation, the courthouse building celebrated its 100th anniversary, and Gallery 2 opened the new heritage exhibit. It is absolutely incredible, and deserves a good look which one day alone cannot afford.   Lastly, the outdoor concert featuring The Sadies in Donaldson Park ended the festivities on a high note.   So that was the re-cap for Grand Forks Canada Day celebrations, but what about the rest of the Boundary? We asked previously where your celebrations will take place, so now tell us: how was the fun?

Please comment below on this post with how much fun your celebrations were, or send in your photos and comments to info@boundarysentinel.com and we’ll post them for everyone to see!
