Christmas is really about the kids and at no seasonal event so far has that been more apparent than at the annual festive family storytime at the Grand Forks and District Library.  More than 50 kids and dozens of parents joined in the festivies on Thursday, Dec. 8, including a sing-along with live guitar music courtesy of the Dad’s Group Band, animated story readings by both library staff and local parents, goodies, free books and a visit from Santa.  The event is the most well attended event of the year at the library, said library director Heather Buzzell. And for good reason — a fun-packed hour of wonder topped off with a private visit from Santa.

The event was co-sponsored by the Grand Forks and District Public Library and the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy.
