Area ‘C’ Director Grace McGregor recently welcomed Alternative Wastewater Consultant Scott Sargert to the Christina Lake Community Hall to speak about the Lake’s Living Machine, or Eco-Machine™, and how it works. The city's next Citizen of the Year Award is up for grabs, as Castlegar's Knights of Columbus are accepting nominations until May 16. The Knights as a group will decide who the celebrated recipient will be on May 20. According to Brian Bogle, manager of Safeway in Castlegar and Knights of Columbus member, the winner should be announced by May 24.

Art across the Boundary was celebrated over the weekend as part of Arts and Culture week.

In Rock Creek, Riverside Artists held their annual art show at the Rock Creek Fair Pavilion on Saturday. It is the second year they have held the event, and this time they expanded to include more fine art, says Ann Rexin, secretary of the organization.
