The sacrifice of 12-year-old John Fulton as a way to stop the anti-Christ didn’t work, according to Kimberly Noyes, accused of the second degree murder of Fulton in Grand Forks in August of 2009.
 
For the first time in a trial that has lasted two weeks so far, the court heard the full details of the actual killing as told to Dr. Shabehram Lohrasbe, an expert in forensic psychiatry by Noyes in two interviews he conducted in November 2009 and January 2010.

Betty Lyons, 80, was reported missing to the Grand Forks RCMP after she failed to return to her home in Calgary.  She left Grand Forks on Monday, July 12 at approximately 10 a.m.  Grand Forks RCMP conducted the investigation but LYONS was not located.

So here we go. In the midst of a trial about the murder of a young boy by a person with a mental illness, the local media is writing up articles about the illness and its impact on a person’s life. An example of too much, too late perhaps?
 
As a community we need to support the people we come into contact with who are different. They may have a mental illness or a disability of some sort. But we don’t.

Campers have discovered the vandals ruining trees in City Park – the beavers did it said City Councillor Gene Robert at council’s last meeting. Joking aside, council dealt with a light meeting on June 28 deciding the location of the rugby field, authorizing financing for the development of northwest 79 Avenue improvements, and proceeding with a call for nominations for their volunteer appreciation night.
