Pair charged in shooting at Beaverdell grow-op

 

Two years after a B.C. man was gunned down while protecting his $1-million marijuana grow-op, charges have been laid against two people, say RCMP. Timothy Niven Tyler, 50, was found by his wife in September 2008 after he was shot on his Beaverdell acreage, about 70 kilometres south of Kelowna.

 

"He was involved in outdoor marijuana grow operations on his property and it is believed he was killed while trying to protect his crop from being robbed," said RCMP Cpl. Annie Linteau. "He had five outdoor marijuana grow operations and one indoor operation. There were about 1,000 plants at the time, all of them mature in size and ready to be harvested, worth about $1 million on the street."

 

Geoffrey Moore, 53, is charged with murder and robbery, and Gerlinde Klumpp, 49, is charged with robbery and obstructing justice.

 

They are due to appear in a Kelowna courtroom this week.
