Road to Big White gets a partial face lift
by Contributor on 23 May 2010
The Province of B.C. has awarded a $250,000 contract to resurface two kilometres of Big White Road north of Highway 33 to provide a smoother ride for tourists and industry.
“Repairing this section of Big White Road will improve the route to ensure safe vehicle operation during the removal of pine beetle affected timber,” says Boundary-Similkameen MLA John Slater.
The contract was awarded to Peter Bros. Construction Ltd. Work is expected to begin this summer and be completed in September.
Motorists can expect single lane alternating traffic with minimal delays. Motorists are advised to visit www.drivebc.ca for provincial highway conditions and traffic updates.
