RCMP seek witnesses to Fulton murder

The Grand Forks community was devasted in August when 12-year-old John Fulton was found dead in his neighbour's home. Shortly afterward police arrested Kimberly Noyes for his murder. On Oct. 31, police issued a request for possible witnesses to come forward.

The RCMP Southeast District Serious Crimes Unit, who is continuing their investigation into the murder of Fulton, announced that they are currently attempting to identify any and all witnesses that may have been at the Gables housing complex in Grand Forks between Saturday, Aug. 15th and Monday, Aug. 17, 2009.

"The investigative team is interested in speaking with anyone who might have attended the Gables complex on those dates and have not been in contact with the RCMP. Investigators do not have any evidence to indicate that there are additional suspects still outstanding. Our inquiries in identifying any persons at this time is to strictly identify all possible witnesses," stated Corporal Dan Moskaluk.

Investigators are interested in identifying and speaking with three Caucasian males who were noted to be within the complex on Saturday, Aug. 15 between approximately 5 and 6 p.m. standing in the complex parking lot near Kimberly Noyes unit that day. The three individuals came to their attention via information from one of the residents but the RCMP has yet to identify them or speak with them.

According to Moskaluk, the resident had been out on his porch on Saturday, Aug. 15 at around 5-6 p.m. and had made a loud bird call to get a friend's attention in a field near the complex. The resident noted that when he made the loud bird call, it caught the attention of these three men who turned and looked at him as he made the calls. RCMP are hoping that these males recall this happening on that weekend.

"The descriptors of the males that were relayed to us are that all were Caucasian, one male was about 45 yearrs of age, slim build and approx 6' to 6'2". The other two males were in their late teens/early 20s and both shorter than the older male," added Moskaluk.

Any persons with information about Fulton's murder is asked to contact the Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288. While Noyes has appeared in court, she has not yet entered a plea in her case. Her next scheduled appearance is set for Nov. 9 in Grand Forks.
