Premier makes statement re: Johnsons Landing landslide
Premier Christy Clark made the following statement on yesterday's land slide in the community of Johnsons Landing:
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and the loved ones of the individuals still missing due to yesterday's devastating land slide at Johnsons Landing on Kootenay Lake.
"On behalf of all British Columbians, I want to express my deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones of the individuals who are missing as a result of this sudden and tragic natural disaster.
"I would also like to thank the dedicated search and rescue personnel, police and local and provincial civil servants who are working tirelessly in treacherous conditions to manage the complex technical challenges, as well as the deeply emotional ones, in order to help British Columbians in need.
"For a small and close-knit community like Johnsons Landing, yesterday's tragedy will have a lasting impact. I want everyone to know they have our government's full support as they recover from this very difficult time."
