Police seek witnesses to fatal jetski incident on Columbia River

The Trail and Greater RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in looking for anyone who

witnessed a Seadoo accident in the Columbia river in Trail on May 9 at approximately 6 p.m.

Three males were on a Seadoo at this time in the river near the Sunningdale / Gyro Park area. An incident occurred causing all three males to be be thrown into the water.

Two males were rescued, but one male Jeffrey David Bauder, 28, is presumed drowned and missing at this time.

“We have witnesses who saw the men in the river after the incident,” said RCMP Cpl. Darryl Orr. “We’re hoping someone saw the actual incident occur.”

Anyone who witnessed this event is urged to contact the Trail & Greater District RCMP Detachment at 250-364-2566.

Victim services is also available for anyone who witnessed this event and has been traumatized by it.
