POLICE: Missing youth found safe
by Boundary Sentinel on 19 Oct 2012
A Grand Forks youth was found safe after an intensive search lasting nearly six hours last night.
On Thursday, Oct. 18 a group of youth were partying at the sand pit in Christina Lake. Just after midnight, a 16-year-old boy got upset, refused a ride home to Grand Forks, then left the party.
Friends began to search for him and , after no success, called in the Boundary RCMP at about 3:00 a.m.
RCMP and Grand Forks Search and Rescue conducted the search for the missing youth around the sand pit area, said Cpl. Richard Lanz of the Grand Forks detachment.
The boy was finally located at 8:30 a.m. at the home of a friend in Christina Lake where he was safe and had no injuries.
