Plenty of action at Grand Forks International Baseball Tournament

The cream is beginning to rise to the top as the Grand Forks International Baseball Tournament enters Day three of competition Thursday at James Donaldson Park in the Boundary City.

Westchase Express and Seattle Studs control the lead in Division one while Northwest Honkers and San Francisco Seals top Division 2.

North Sound Emeralds and Everett Merchants hold the lead in Division 3.

All teams have registered wins in their only games of the tournament.

Action resumes today in Division 3 with North Sound Emeralds facing winless Highline Bears at 8 a.m. and Everett Merchants meeting Alaska Goldpanners at 11 a.m.

In Division 1 play Westchase Express meets Burnaby Bulldogs at 2 p.m. while Seattle Studs battle West Coast Guns in the feature game at 5 p.m.

Friday concludes round robin play before the teams enter the playoff round Saturday.

The final is set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
