To The Editor:

When I contemplate the choices we have in  the upcoming provincial election, I must admit I get depressed. I think we need a new category on the voting ballot entitled None of the Above.

The Liberals can be characterized as sneaky taxers with a conceited attitude. They are also given to flip and smart alec sophistry instead of candid,...

To The Editor:

As our customers know, the winter season brings higher electricity bills given the home heating energy requirements compared to the rest of the year.

During the mid-December to mid-February billing period, many parts of our electricity service territory experienced much colder than usual winter temperatures. With colder than usual weather...

To The Editor:

The Vancouver Sun article: “Scarce Moose” is hardly surprising to that small percent of hunters, outfitters and concerned citizens who are fully aware of the sorry state of wildlife management in BC.

Weak wildlife management started to go downhill in 1996 when Premier Glen Clark facing a sea of red ink demanded more money from all of our...

As Black Friday looms followed by the impending Christmas season, I begin to worry about my days. I am fully in support of various causes and events of awareness but our 24 hour slots are quickly being consumed by 'special days'. Failing to stem the tide, we risk finding ourselves with a day shortage.

Dear Editor,

Phase 2 of the universal water meter boondoggle is in progress… there were approximately 400 meters remaining to be installed. Here are a few things all residents and homeowners should know:

Daily there are thousands of migrants fleeing to Europe from Syria and Iraq.  This year there have been over 300,000 refugees arriving on European shores.  People are fleeing the savage rule of ISIS in parts of Iraq and Syria and the ongoing civil war in Syria.

We continue to read headlines that ISIS has fired chemical mortar shells; they continue to torture and behead anyone who does...

How much would it cost for the City of Grand Forks to test the accuracy of local industries' water meters? Last year, the CAO told me it would be too expensive. But, as far back as five years ago, expert engineering companies have been recommending this to our city.

Why would our city be considering installing more water meters if it can't afford to properly take...

As we live through a hot summer, we are faced with the constant threat of fire and with water shortages in most of BC. It is heartening to finally hear ongoing public recognition of the fact of global warming and the warnings that fire threat and water shortages will be a fact of life in the years to come. It is also heartening to hear that the federal government and some provinces are taking...

Dear Editor,

The video media tech recording council meetings is publicly discrediting and debasing our mayor. He published demeaning things about Councilor Butler (that she had him remove on the basis of Respectful Workplace policy). He openly states biased opinions about issues that intimately involve the city and its residents. And all this is done on the same website  (gftv.ca) as...

Public Service Announcement to Community Regarding Smart Meters

In researching smart meters or Itron meters, I have learned there is a lot of misinformation circulated by email and available on the internet.  I continue to support only peaceful, legal and harmonious resolution of resident concerns about Itron smart meters.

I strongly encourage people to only accept legal advice...
