Letters to the Editor

To the Editor;
Shaun Eadie and Brian Thomas, a gay couple, wanted to spend the night at a bed and breakfast in Grand Forks which turned out to be run by a Christian couple. When the Christians refused, Eadie and Thomas sued.
But why would Eadie and Thomas even want to stay in a devoutly Christian household? Would they be suing if it had turned out to be a Muslim couple? Rights...

To the Editor;
While paying Boss Power resolves a lot of problems,it is a very sad state of affairs and I can only hope that the both the government of B.C. and the federal government will learn from this so that all is not lost.
My comments in this regard are:
1. No government should ever convey the rights to their natural resources to any private enterprise without...

Minister Rich Coleman and Premier Christy Clark have not learned a thing. Even though the government spent millions on ads (that did not make sense by the way) the people did not support the harmonized sales tax. I only hope that this smart meter initiative will have the same fate.

To the Editor:
I was fortunate enough to participate at the Union of British Columbia Municipal Conference as an outgoing municipal councillor for the Town of Oliver. The key address is always on the last day, and always by the Premier.

To The Editor;

Sounds promising, but the current administration clearly prioritizes the physical aspect of education over literacy.
We are appalled that they have...

To the Editor:
New Democratic Party (NDP) MP Alex Atamanenko is concerned about genetically modified (GM) foods. Great… But how does he explain the two NDP premiers who established the GM industry’s permanent presence in Western Canada?
In all the media coverage of Atamanenko’s discussions on genetic modification, not one reporter has ever asked him why...

Dear Editor;
The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report in the past few weeks that states that people should exercise caution using cell phones and similar wireless device. I have recently learned that Fortis wants to remove our safe power meters and replace them with newer wireless meters that will transmit radiation waves throughout our homes every three minutes day and...

Dear Editor;
I am so happy at the way the government is handling the harmonized sales tax (HST) question. It has assured me that although the head of the snake has been cut off, the rest of the snake continues to wiggle in deceit.
The head of the snake was forced to resign when his popularity and credibility fell below 10% but Gordie was recently appointed by Stevie Harper to the...
