Grand Forks Credit Union (GFCU) reassures members they have policies and practices in place to help those affected both directly and indirectly by the recent BC Teachers’ Federation and BC Public School Employers’ labour dispute.

“We understand the financial strain this can put on some of our members and there is often much we can do to assist them during events such as these,” states Kelly Thomas, CEO of GFCU.  “Our employees have already been working with members and we would like to take this opportunity to invite any members affected by the labour dispute to talk to us about their situation.”

“Our Credit Union is in excellent financial health and is committed to doing all we can to maintain the financial well-being of our members,” explains Thomas.

“Many of our members simply need time and flexibility around their financial obligations to figure out what they will do to replace the income that has been lost to their household,” notes Becky Clements, Operations Manager for GFCU.  “We will do our very best to find a solution that works for both the member and the Credit Union.”

With approximately $212 million in assets, Grand Forks Credit Union offers financial products and services for its almost 9,000 members across the Boundary area from Christina Lake to Rock Creek.
