Personal contributions from Elks members have given much needed aid for the Christmas season.

On Nov. 30, 2010 Elks #493 President, Larry Jmaiff presented a cheque to Boundary Community Food Bank President, Deb Billwiller. Elks members from Grand Forks personally contributed for a total of $300.   Billwiller has been volunteering with this organization for five years, since retiring from the library.  She and other volunteers spend many hours stocking shelves with nourishing food for those who need assistance. Billwiller says some people are struggling with unemployment, have disabilities or health issues, are raising children, seniors, or some may be working but their income isn’t quite enough to meet the needs of their family.    The Boundary area is fortunate to have such caring volunteers and generous donors who want to make a difference in the lives of others. The Elks appreciates this organization and encourages others to give time, money or contribute however they can.
