In the spirit of Christmas sharing the students of Hutton Elementary school have been busy making Christmas trees to help their community. You may have seen the wonderfully decorated trees that were the backdrop to the school’s recent Christmas concert, well these same trees will be available for purchase at a fundraising auction next week.  The Grand Forks and Boundary Regional Agricultural Society (GFBRAS) had wood donated from Grand Forks Home Centre for this project. After having the wood cut into the shapes of Christmas trees, they handed them over to the children at Hutton to decorate. Twelve classes in all participated in the project, and the trees were ready for their show.  The life-size decorated trees are now on display at the Grand Forks Credit Union where they will remain until the live auction scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 5:30 p.m.. Bob Smith of What about Bob’s? will be the lively auctioneer. GFBRAS thanks Tkach’s Moving and Storage for transporting the trees to the credit union.  All proceeds from the sale of the trees will be split between GFBRAS and the Boundary Food Bank. Come on out and pick your favourite environmentally friendly tree that lasts for years!
