The Grand Forks Border Bruins snapped a four game losing streak on Saturday and they did it in dramatic fashion. Down 4-0 entering the final period on the road against the 100 Mile House Wranglers the Bears chances seemed pretty slim.

However their offence came to life as they roared back with 4 goals in that final frame to tie the game. This sent the game into overtime and at 3:04 Michael Rand notched the winner. This improbable comeback is a character building victory and should inject some confidence into the team as the season continues.

Rand finished the game with a pair of goals and two assists. Max Newton continues his excellent season with a goal and one helper. Newton is currently in second place in league scoring with 31 points. Lincoln Lane tied the game with only 35 seconds remaining in regulation with his fourth of the year. Lane leads the team in assists with 18. Calgary product Bryson Yee with his second of the season also scored for the winners.

The day before on Halloween night in Kamloops Grand Forks lost 6-3 to the first place team in the Doug Birks Division. The score was 2-1 after the opening period but the Storm outscored the Bruins 3-1 in the middle frame to take a commanding lead into the third. Tucker Brown, with his third of the season, Newton and Rand, were the goal getters for the Bruins.

Grand Forks is at home this coming Friday, November 7, when they play host to the Columbia Valley Rockies at 7:00 pm.
