Boundary businesses become more united

The Greenwood Board of Trade (BOT) and the Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce (BCRCC) have joined forces, after an agreement was made at a meeting in Greenwood, March 16.

At the meeting, the two groups agree to a partnership that would allow them to support each other and help each other grow.

“This really creates a strength in the region,” said BCRCC executive director James Wilson, stressing that it will help united the Boundary communities. “It’s a great opportunity.”

For businesses, this means they can choose to be a member of both groups or just one without any pressure. They can attend both meetings and enjoy the perks that both the BOT and BCRCC offer. If a business is a member of one group, they are considered a member of the other.

The two groups will not solicit each other to join one group instead of another and they can swap memberships.

Another perk is that services and resources can be swapped. This is particularly useful if an event is being held regionally.

Under the new agreement, the BCRCC is helping promote the BOT and their events starting with a Mother’s Day garage this year.

For Chamber members, the next Biz on Biz meeting will be held April 27 in Rock Creek and the next BOT meeting will be held later in April, but the date hasn’t been set.
