Hi fellow residents of Grand Forks,
I am running for School Trustee in the City of Grand Forks. As a long time resident and business owner here I can appreciate what comes with the job of School Trustee. Over the past 20 years of child care service I have been involved in the lives of over 300 families within our community. I have a Bachelors Degree in Children's Studies with an emphasis on Child Psychology and Counseling and past experience in teaching at both elementary schools as well as GFSS. I am running for school trustee because I am a mother, a grandmother and a childcare worker and I sincerely want the best for these children.
Child advocacy is my passion. Becoming a school trustee will put me in a better position to help children and families in our community. It is imperative that our children have a safe learning environment. I want to help provide that for our future leaders. Together we can put an end to bullying and create safer schools. I will work with you to stand up for those who have become targets and ensure the cycle stops.
I also want to help teachers access all the available resources and support they need for more classroom time and better individual child growth. These school years are critical in child development. I will work to make sure our schools are a safe place for our kids to grow, learn and become confident in who they are. Vote for Katie because “No one knows kids like Katie.”
