Nelson Police are reporting a second drug overdose in the city within the past two months.

Thursday, (June 4, 2020) at 7:07 p.m., NPD dispatch received a complaint of a female that was non-responsive in the backyard area of a structure in the 800 block of Vernon Street.

A structure fire on Yew Street this morning has destroyed two homes, one vehicle and many possessions, including a quad, according to Castlegar Fire Chief Sam Lattanzio.

He said the call came in at roughly 11 a.m., while crews were responding to a report of a grass fire adjacent to Fairview along Hwy 22.
